Association of State Dam Safety Officials Undergraduate Scholarship

 

Scholarships of up to $10,000 will be awarded for the 2014/2015 school year. Successful
recipients must be U.S. citizens and enrolled full-time at the senior level (during the 2014/2015 school year) in an accredited civil engineering program, or in a related field as determined by ASDSO, and must demonstrate an interest in pursuing a career in hydraulics, hydrology or geotechnical disciplines, or in another discipline related to the design, construction and operation of dams.
Undergraduate students planning to graduate in May/December 2015 will be eligible for the 2014 scholarship.

Minimum Criteria - Applicants must have a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 for the first three years of college and be recommended by their academic advisor.
Basis for Award - The basis for selection will generally follow these guidelines:
o Academic Scholarship
o Financial Need
o Work Experience/Activities
o Essay
Announcement of successful candidates will be made in July 2014.

AISC Scholoarship

 

Description

This is the application form for Junior, Senior and Master's level students applying for an AISC Scholarship.

Requirements

For many of the awards, applicant must be a full-time civil or architectural engineering student who is a U.S. citizen and who is enrolled in an accredited U.S. university program. Some awards are open to construction engineering or construction management students, as well. Please read the detailed requirements for each individual award.

In order to be considered for an AISC Scholarship, each candidate must complete an online application. This includes submitting an essay and a copy of the applicant’s official transcript(s), and ensuring the applicant’s recommendation has been completed. Applicants are required to submit their application electronically after the entire application is complete, including the recommendation.

T. Larry Okubo Scholarship Fund

 

Program Description:
The T. Larry Okubo Scholarship Fund is organized as a vehicle to promote public, charitable and educational purposes in the United States. In furtherance of this goal, it will grant partial merit and need based scholarships to individuals who are enrolled on a full time basis in an accredited architectural or architectural engineering graduate program.
The scholarships are intended to provide aspiring architects and engineers with a means to fund their graduate education. The amount of each scholarship will be in the range of $5,000 to $10,000 per semester or $3,333 to $6,666 per quarter depending on the particulars of the student’s enrollment.

Application Process
The applicants are asked to submit a letter of intent (maximum 5 pages) touching on the highlights of the student’s achievements and goals. Applicants should also provide graphic and written details of educational projects which exemplify their explorations, attitudes and competencies. The applicants are also asked to complete and submit the attached application form. Applicants are required to submit their application packages by September 30, 2011. All graphic and written materials should be submitted as pdf’d documents. The provision of hard copies is not required nor encouraged.

Asian Pacific Community Fund

The Asian Pacific Community Fund partners with verizon to financially assist students in pursuit of higher education as they facce the challenge of significantly rising costs of obtaining a college degree. These awards will support those who excel academically, are leaders amongst their peers and are making a positive impact in the Asian Pacific islander communities.

Eligibility:

  • Be a citizen, national or legal permanent resident of the U.S. (including resident of the Freely Associated States).
  • Be a resident of California, Oregon, or Washington, or attending college in one of these states.
  • Be a third year college student and enrolled in a U.S. accredited 4-year college or university as a full-time, degree-seeking student majoring in math, science, engineering or related field in the Fall of 2011. (See specific requirements for each application cycle)
  • Have a minimum cumulative unweighted college GPA of 3.0
