Department Head Al Estes elected as a Fellow in the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE)

ARCE Department Head Al Estes has been elected to the grade of Fellow in the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). The ASCE news release can be found here. ASCE Fellows have made celebrated contributions and developed creative solutions that change lives around the world. It is a prestigious honor held by fewer than 3.5% of ASCE members. Al attended the annual American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) OPAL awards dinner in Arlington, Virginia on March 17th. Al was photographed with the other society members who were inducted as Fellows this year. The new class of Fellows were recognized as part of the dinner. Al is also seen with Dr. Dan Frangopol, his Ph.D. thesis advisor, who won the 2016 OPAL award for education and ASCE President-elect nominee Kristina Swallow.
